Week 2
We will be designing a simple centrepiece. We’ll be discussing the Do’s and Don’ts of wedding centrepieces, and centrepiece styles. We will be discussing colour theory and how to apply it to your designs. We will also learn about centrepiece mechanics, how to prepare and proportion the vessel to the flowers used.
Week 3
We will be reviewing making an arrangement menu, and applying it to larger scale arrangements. We will also review preparation, industry pricing and how to calculate labour for weddings. We will be designing a statement centrepiece that can be applied to all large scale arrangements, not all wedding related. This class will have more design time and feedback will be given.

Week 5
We will review all design techniques and then apply what we learned to create a detailed bridal bouquet. We will go over bouquet preparation and choosing premium blooms for the bride. Additionally, designing with a mirror, why it’s important and knowing when to stop. This class will have more design time and feedback will be given.

Wiring techniques, preparation time and what flowers to stay away from will also be taught. Additionally, you will learn how and where to store what you create, how to pin a boutonniere, and finally, designing a combination of all 3.
Week 8
We will be discussing different garland styles and techniques, as well as learning the mechanics and methods behind each. Preparation, labour cost and how to keep fresh out of water will also be discussed. We will be creating a 6ft banded garland made with all local greenery.

We will discuss all possible onsite installations, how to execute large scale installations and how to design prior to pick up. Mechanics and onsite tool kit must haves, design tips and how to prepare will also be taught.
Week 10
Students will take the lead in designing a detailed arbour piece of their choice, and applying what they have learned in terms of elements and principles of design, preparation and mechanics. Testimonials
Floral Support’s Wedding Course gave me the confidence to begin taking on weddings and other large scale events. They went through everything from where to begin with potential clients to how to make sure your delivery is a success. The classes also really helped refine my skills and expand my repertoire of floral offerings. I could not recommend this course enough for anyone looking to take the next step in their floral career!
Alexa – Fall 2021
Floral Support’s Wedding Course has given me the skills and knowledge to create the more complex (and normally intimidating) wedding floristry items like arbor installations and bridal bouquets. But more importantly, Rachel and Lindsey’s encouragement and general loveliness has boosted my confidence so much. They have made me feel confident in my personal floristry style and inspired me to keep pursuing it.
Genevieve – Spring 2021
